A Midsummer Dream

"She waits. Patiently. Time a string drawing closer the moment his eyes will meet hers.

Deep breaths. Inhale...Exhale.... A calming peace floods her soul.

Distant dreams now a reality. Sweet anticipation her constant companion.

 How will my love respond?"

'First Look' by The AfroBohoBride

This moody September weather has me dreaming of a styled shoot I collaborated on with some fantastic wedding vendors over the summer. Come, dream with me...

A beautiful Saturday morning dawns, with its precious rays of sunlight piercing through the clouds that periodically allow the summer sky to boast of her gown of varying hues of blue. The summer birdsong fills the air as each avian bids the other a good morn. A sense of anticipation is thrumming with summer's promises lazily floating by. Finally, the days of dreaming and weeks of scheming will culminate to a moment in this one fine day: an AfroBohoBride Styled Shoot.

Until the first drop of the long awaited summer rain falls...then another and yet another, until the deluge of heaven's abundance pours itself onto the parched earth in a dance so wild and free, beckoning all that can hear its call to watch in awe of creation's power...All Day Long. All hope of sunset's glory and her evening shadows kissing brown skin and the bounty us mere mortals had prepared, seemingly washed away with the torrents.

And then a song of grace is heard on the wind. Peace be still! The slowing cadence of heavens' bounty! Summer's promise has arrived- sweet evening light with a refreshing breeze carrying melodies that dreams are made of as if to say "Dream fair maidens, prepare your feast - the heavens have found you in favour!"

Dream we did, working swiftly and diligently within the small window the benevolent rain clouds had bestowed upon us, as if they would never grace us again. The heavens smiled at our labour and let forth sweet tears on our design as if to say the time had come to awaken from our slumber for the rain clouds to sing their song once more.

I leave you with some scenes from the midsummer dreamscape captured by the talented Maja of @majatsolophotography

I call these The First Look.
